According to Bloomberg's business data and research firm, one-third of the European factories of automotive giants such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Stellantis, Renault, and Volkswagen have insufficient capacity utilization. Some of these factories actually produce less than half of the theoretical number of cars.

Sales issues have also caused a sluggish atmosphere at Renault's factory in Douai, northern France and Volkswagen's factory in Dresden, Germany. It is difficult to find buyers for the electric vehicles produced by these two factories, and the manufacturers have also suffered losses.

Analysts Gillian Jevis and Michael Dean from Bloomberg Research wrote in a report that "overcapacity is imminent," and "global car production slowdown, inventory increase, and car manufacturers cutting back on battery electric vehicle plans have led to a" unanimous downward adjustment "of market expectations for auto parts manufacturers for the next two years.
